About Keyverse

A free series of browser games that turns Mac keyboard shortcuts into muscle memory.

Keyverse is a collection of ten free, browser-based games that teach macOS keyboard shortcuts through short, focused practice levels. It is produced and owned by Mountain Rock State LLC. Every game runs entirely in your web browser — there is no download, no installation, and no account to create.

What Keyverse Teaches

The series is organised into four volumes, from the essentials every Mac user should know to advanced Finder navigation and text-editing techniques. Each game breaks a category of shortcuts into a handful of levels, and each level drills a small, related set of real macOS shortcuts — Spotlight, copy and paste, Mission Control, Quick Look, cursor movement, text selection, and more. The shortcuts practised in each game are drawn directly from macOS itself, not invented for the game.

How It Works

Keyverse is built around learning by doing rather than reading. Instead of slides or videos, each level asks you to perform a shortcut and gives you instant feedback. A repeat mode shows the answer first as a training aid, and a test mode hides it so you can check your recall. Because levels are short, you can build real muscle memory in a few minutes at a time.

Who It's For

Keyverse is designed for anyone who uses a Mac and wants to work faster without reaching for the trackpad — new Mac owners learning the basics, switchers coming from other platforms, and experienced users who want to sharpen Finder and text-editing speed. No prior knowledge is assumed, and the early games start from the very first shortcuts.

Accessibility & Devices

Every game works on desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone, and can be played using a physical keyboard or on-screen modifier and action keys. The interface is available in 12 languages so players can learn in the language they are most comfortable with. One volume is dedicated specifically to macOS accessibility shortcuts such as screen zoom, colour inversion, and fine volume and brightness control.
